What ‘Santa’s First Race’ is All About

Lauren Seger conjures up all the excitement of Christmas in this delightful tale. You’ll be ready to decorate cookies, light up your tree, enjoy a mug of hot cocoa, and snuggle together in the sparkly lights when reading this story. The very merry rhythm with it’s wonderful beat carries the whimsical story along. Paired with the beautiful and amazing illustrations by Stevie Lewis, you’ll be snuggling up with this book again and again.

extra jolly storyline

In Santa’s First Race, Lauren Seger captures all the wonder and delight of this Christmas season by giving us a glimpse into the childhood of one of the most beloved Christmas characters of all time - the one and only Santa Claus!

Take a snowy, magical adventure through bright candy canes and off frosty jumps. When a jolly boy and a loveable reindeer enter the Race of the Jubilee, it’s sure to be a wild ride full of spectacular obstacles and enchanting twists and turns. Come on, climb on your sleigh and join in! Let the most magical race begin! Join young Santa Claus and Rover the Reindeer through a magical land of sweets, fun obstacles to overcome (imagine gooey gumdrops!) and merry moments. Along the way, Santa and Rover discover the Christmas spirit and it leads to a very merry ending!

characters so merry and bright!

Meet Santa Claus as a young child. He’s just as jolly as ever, always full of surprises and ready for adventure. He shows us the universal power of kindness, knowing the race is made more fun when they all work together. You’ll meet Santa’s friend, Rover the Reindeer, who loves to have fun, race fast, and have adventures with Santa. They are given fun competition (and some mischief) by Henry B. Benry and Gruff Gruff, the biggest team of all. This origins story of Santa Claus also introduces us to how Santa meets the future Mrs. Claus... when we meet a young spirited girl, Holly. She races so fast with her teammate Jingles, all while showing the virtues of generosity, true friendship, and the spirit of Christmas along the way!

Perfect for holiday gift giving and snuggles

This book can be read aloud cover to cover in the soft glow of your glittering Christmas tree. It can be flipped through and read aloud at random, a few pages here and there while Christmas cookies are baking (and a few pages more while the cookies are enjoyed!). Its okay if the pages get sticky from little fingers holding candy canes or from hot cocoa splashing a page - my hope is this storybook will be well-loved- helping you make special memories together and being present together during the hustle and bustle of this Christmas season!

ready, set, go!

My goal in creating Santa’s First Race was to spread Christmas cheer to people of all walks of life, making spirits brighter, homes happier. So I packed it full of holiday favorites, Dr. Seuss inspired verses, and candy land inspired scenes. It reads like I feel these days- so merry and bright! Creating this story brought me so much new joy, and new joy is made better by sharing it. I love sharing this story with you and my joy through it. That is, ultimately, the beauty of stories. Especially this one. I appreciate you guys being here so much. Without further ado, here’s my debut picture book- Santa’s First Race!
